Chapter 3 : The Real Battle Has Just Begun

Lighting the cigarette, Stanley brushed past William and leaned against the car door.

The glowing tip of the cigarette flickered in the dark night. He took a deep drag, filling his lungs, the nicotine numbing his nerves.

The oxygen deprivation made his head spin, giving him a euphoric feeling. All the worries in his heart were exhaled with the smoke, dissipating into the air.

Unconsciously, the cigarette burned to the end, leaving only the butt in his hand and ashes on the ground.

The race over there ended, and the two drove onto the track to prepare.

One was a convertible black Lamborghini Veneno, the other a convertible flashy red Ferrari LaFerrari.

It was the ultimate battle of the rich second generation, a showdown between Mr. Smith and Mr. Warburg.

The sides of the track were crowded with onlookers placing bets.

Some bet on the fifteen-year-old rising star, the "Speeding Prince" Mr. Warburg, while others bet on the undefeated Stanley.

The bets were evenly split, making it a balanced competition.

A blonde woman in a black leather bodycon skirt, with a voluptuous figure, made everyone''s blood boil.

She stood directly in front of the two cars, raised her slender arm, and made an OK gesture, "Are you ready?"

"One"

"Two"

"Three"

"Go"

As soon as she finished speaking, the two supercars shot out like arrows from a bow.

Fortunately, the blonde was wearing a bodycon skirt, so the wind from the speeding cars didn''t cause any wardrobe malfunctions.

The people on the sides of the track were very excited, their eyes fixed on the Lamborghini Veneno and Ferrari LaFerrari racing neck and neck on the track.

The roaring engine sounds, like wild beasts, echoed through the night sky.

William''s eyes were fixed on the road as he floored the gas pedal, the car''s speed continuously climbing without a hint of hesitation.

In the rearview mirror, the flashy red Ferrari LaFerrari was hot on his tail.

After several turns, the two cars maintained their positions.

As the finish line drew nearer, William accelerated once more.

The speed increased, the scenery around him blurred into streaks, making it hard to see clearly.

The roar of the engine and the whooshing wind filled his ears, everything else was left behind.

Stanley was not to be outdone, staying right behind him.

They approached the final turn, the only chance to overtake and the key to victory.

The Ferrari LaFerrari beside him accelerated, and the Lamborghini Veneno also pushed forward.

William floored the gas pedal, pushing the car to its maximum speed. The wheels spun so fast they almost left the ground.

Adrenaline surged, his brain became exhilarated, William loved this extreme thrill.

Even so, Stanley stayed right behind, not falling behind by an inch.

As they took the turn, both cars reached their top speed, and to win, they had to take the inside lane.

The car bodies scraped against each other, sparks flying, it was thrilling.

The hot-blooded William was determined not to give in.

Seeing they were about to collide, Stanley sharply turned the steering wheel, veering off the track.

The high-speed spinning wheels violently rubbed against the ground, producing a lot of smoke.

At the same time, William sped straight through the finish line, achieving first place.

Stanley opened the car door and got out, immediately seeing William standing at the finish line, giving him a triumphant look, like a smug little fox.

Stanley sighed helplessly, "This little brat."

"Ah... ah... ah... ah... ah... ah... give me the money, I won the bet."

"Ugh, what bad luck, I bet on the wrong guy."

"What undefeated record, all just bragging, I had such high hopes for him."

"That was simply amazing, had me on the edge of my seat."

...

People on both sides of the track had their own opinions, discussing animatedly.

As Stanley approached, they all fell silent.

After all, it''s not good to criticize someone to their face, especially not Mr. Smith, who is not to be trifled with.

The race ended, and the spectators dispersed. Stanley said, "I lost, so tell me, what do you want?"

William: "I want you to help me investigate someone. His name is Lucas, he''s someone the old man brought back."

"Keep it discreet, don''t let the old man know."

Stanley: "You risked your life for something like this?"

William didn''t answer, he took out his phone and checked the time.

It was already 9:30 PM, with half an hour left.

"Once you find out, contact me immediately." With that, he opened the car door and quickly got in.

"Wait." Stanley interrupted as William was starting the car.

"Add me on WeChat, it''ll be easier to report."

Stanley was Terrence''s older brother, and William was quite familiar with him. But the two of them indeed had no contact information for each other.

Previously, Stanley had asked William for his contact information, but was always refused.

The reason was that Stanley wanted to pursue William.

Although William had not yet differentiated, his physical strength, height, and personality were all Alpha standards, with a very low chance of differentiating into an Omega.

So, William always saw himself as an Alpha, and he certainly couldn''t accept an AA relationship.

William took out his phone and quickly added Stanley on WeChat, asking, "Anything else?"

Stanley: "One more thing."

William: "Go ahead."

Stanley smiled, "Mr. Warburg, you looked really handsome today."

William: "..."

The Lamborghini quickly sped away, leaving only exhaust fumes in Stanley''s face.

Stanley raised his hand to wave, watching the black Lamborghini Veneno disappear into the night.

He lifted his phone and kissed it, humming a little tune as he walked away happily.

The Warburg Family Villa was brightly lit, and Seth was still awake.

As soon as William walked in, he saw Seth sitting upright on the sofa, as if he had been deliberately waiting for him, exuding a strong sense of pressure.

Seth: "You''re back."

William: "Yeah."

Seth: "It''s 10:20 now. You''re twenty minutes late."

William admitted his mistake calmly: "Today is an exception. It won''t happen again next time."

After the events of the past few days, William had realized that going head-to-head with the old man would only end up hurting himself.

Since he couldn''t resist, he decided to try compliance. He aimed to make the other party lower their guard and gain more freedom.

William''s quick change in attitude surprised Seth, but also brought a hint of joy.

Seth: "It''s good that you know your mistake."

"I have to go on a business trip. I won''t be back for a long time."

William paused on the stairs and replied, "Okay."

"Dad, you should get some rest early too."

Seth watched William''s back, his lips moving as if he wanted to say something more, but in the end, he only uttered one word: "Okay."

After the adrenaline rush of the racing competition, William had sweated a lot and felt sticky and uncomfortable all over.

He took a shower and lay down on the big bed.

With one eye aimed at the wall, he saw the large letters spelling "Lucas." He picked up a suction cup dart and threw it, hitting the bullseye.

William curled his lips, his face devoid of any smile, and said coldly, "Lucas, our battle has just begun. Let''s see who gets kicked out of the Warburg Family first, you or me, William, becoming your puppet."
